With a new piece in Waxwing coming out soon, here’s a link to a write-up I did last year on the brilliant New Orleans street band Tuba Skinny. They’re a band combining the old and the new, keeping nearly forgotten tunes alive by using Internet videos of their street performances to attract a new audience.

I really enjoy these posts. As an old Tuba Player, I can remember the days of playing and entertaining. There may be more to life than making music happen, but I have not found it yet.
